In my mind, price is a rubbish differentiator. I know lots of great companies have been built around discounting and mass production but when it comes to technology, staying ahead by being the best is much more attractive than being a bit cheaper and frequently a lot less good. Software in particular tends to create monopolies.

But reading about the Xiaomi Mi 4i, it seems that perhaps the mobile device is already becoming commoditised and price is, perhaps, the next battle-ground.
