Just as my web developer colleague and I are launching a joint venture bringing websites that are a) easier for clients to edit and update than ever before and b) responsive to the device on which they are being viewed, Google do this!
With over 40% of all website views being on a mobile device, this all makes sense.
If only I had time to update my own site!
Google is updating its search algorithms to favour websites that work well on mobile devices. Sections of sites owned by the European Union, the BBC and Wikipedia currently fail the search giant's Mobile Friendly Test developer tool. "Mobile friendliness" will affect how prominently websites appear in Google search results pages from 21 April. Criteria includes text size, the amount of space between links and whether the content fits across a mobile screen.
